Phew. That was intense!
Just wanted to give everybody a bit of an update and provide some rumor control.
What happened was one of the rear tires on the van blew about an hour west of Phoenix. This caused the trailer to become uncontrollable and eventually flip over, taking us with it. We rolled about 1 1/4 times, ending up with the drivers side down. Our gear was strewn over about a 50 yard stretch of the side of I-10, most of it looking exactly as you'd expect after such an event.
Luckily all five ban members walked away from the crash relatively unscathed. Jon was flown to a Phoenix area hospital as a precautionary measure, but was released with a clean bill of health a short time later.
Even before we were off the side of the road, all our amazing friends and fans had started organizing benefit shows to replace what was lost. It warms all our hearts to know that there was that much love and concern out there for us. Special thanks to Sid at the Boiler Room, Doug at Curtain Club, the guys from HK, Opus Dai, 32 leaves (who were nice enough to let us crash with them in Phoenix while we figured out how to get home), all the bands who called offering to play for free (I know I'm leaving some out. I apologize)
as soon a I get home I'll post all the pics and video I have of the aftermath. Probably tomorrow.
There are currently 2 benefit shows scheduled, Feb 4 at the boiler room in Denton, and feb 13 at the curtain club in Dallas. I'll post more info on these soon as well.
Again, thanks to everybody for the overwhelming outpouring of support! We love you guys.
Brett
